Tutorials

Introduction

IEEE GCC 2011 will include both half-day and full-day tutorials. All tutorials will be scheduled on the 19th of February 2011. Tutorials must be designed to either introduce important topics to people with little or no background in these topics, or to address new or advanced topics aimed at experts in the field. Proposals for tutorials must include:

• Title of the tutorial
• Type of the tutorial (half-day or full-day)
• Targeted audience (who should attend?)
• A brief abstract introducing the subject and highlighting its significance
• A short outline of the material to be covered and the time required to cover each topic.
• Name, affiliation, contact information and a short biography of the tutorial presenter(s) including details of any previous tutorials given.
• Any supplementary materials that might support the proposal (eg links to web pages of presenter(s), draft slides, etc)

Proposals must be submitted via e-mail on or before the submission of tutorial proposals deadline shown below to the Tutorials Chairs:

Dr. Abdullatif Glass ( aglass@ieee.org ) and Dr. Qassim Nasir ( nasir@sharjah.ac.ae ).

All proposals will be evaluated by the Technical Program Committee of the conference. Selection will be based on the quality of the proposal, relevance and timeliness of the subject, and qualifications and experience of the presenter(s).

Notification of acceptance will be sent by the notification of acceptance of proposals deadline shown below.

Presenters of accepted proposals will be required to submit camera-ready notes by the submission of camera-ready notes deadline shown below.

The local organization committee reserves the right to cancel a given tutorial if the number of registrants for the tutorial is low.
